Today I got a call about an air conditioner that had stopped cooling.
The homeowner noticed the thermostat showed 70°F indoors, but the system wasn't bringing the temperature down even though it was running.
Initial inspection
✅ Checked the outdoor Bryant Quantum Plus condenser.
The unit was dirty around the base, with leaves and debris restricting airflow.
After opening the equipment, I inspected the electrical components and control board to verify the system was receiving the correct signals.
Diagnosis
After testing the system and checking the controls, I identified the issue and restored normal operation.
To improve comfort and reliability, I also installed a new Honeywell thermostat, configured it correctly, and tested every operating mode.
